My nephew, Dalton and his girlfriend, Sonia, have been missing since the morning of March 10th. They are high school freshmen, and were last seen leaving for their respective schools, in the Sacramento, Ca. area, that morning. They didn't go to school, and haven't been seen or heard from since. Obviously I can't be of much help but I just want you to know that I'm so sorry. When parents forbid outright I think they touch the deepest rebellious vein in most kids. I hope they're found and peace can be achieved for all and I can't imagine the anguish of their families and of all of you as you wait.

They are both really good kids and this was so unneccessary. Her Dad is Pakastani and believes girls and women are property and should obey. Don't raise your daughter in the US then! They are both intelligent beyond their years and very much in love. I just hope they are ok. I have trouble believing Dalt wouldn't find a way to let his family know they were ok. HUGZ

Oh how I wish parents wouldn't forbid adolescent children from seeing/talking to one another, but that's water under the bridge.

I just hope they're found before they get into more than they can handle.

Yeah, me too! There was no reason except they didn't want her to think about boys. After a year long relationship in which they are best friends as well as "in love". They found a way around the talking thing by getting a throw away cell phone so her parents couldn't monitor her calls. They arranged to meet a movie and the parents saw her with Dalton coming out of the movie and created a scene, and said they were going to send her to boot camp for incorrigable kids for her action. Why on earth would they not see this coming?
I just want them to be safe. Not knowing scares me to death.

Oh dear...I hope they're ok. Why do people insist on getting in the way of young love? (Romeo & Juliet should be assigned reading for EVERYONE!)

Cultural differences, her father is from Pakistan. He believes women to be property and should do what they are told without question. Sonia is a wonderful girl with a very smart head on her shoulders. Why raise her here and expect her to not be Americanized? She and Dalt are best friends as well as a couple. Their relationship was a beautiful thing to see. HUGZ
