Things are starting to get a bit better. Chuck will be moved into here by Dec. 1, so money will definitly free up after that.
Besides that, we've managed to pay off *some* of our massive PSE&G bills. Not all of either of them, but enough so that they shouldn't be knocking on either of our doors anytime soon. I can't tell you what a relief that is, being scared it's them every time the door buzzer blares, scared to leave the house in case I come home and it's all dark.
I still don't have heating gas, but we picked up one of those oil filled electric radiators, and I have to say, it's a lot warmer than that crappy gas heater in my kitchen. It doesn't heat a huge area, but it does just fine for the little living room/bedroom area here. I haven't seen the bill yet, but I'm pretty sure it'll be cheaper in the long run than the gas heater, so it's all good.
Once Chuck is moved in, we can afford to turn the gas back on. Like I just said, I probably won't use it much for heat, since this radiator is working far better than I had expected, but I'm looking forward to being able to cook on the stovetop again. The toaster oven and microwave are starting to get on my nerves.
The new medicine, Provigil, is actually working out fairly well. I had enough energy on Friday to spend ALL DAY cleaning. Not my usual 1/2 hour burst of energy, but actually sustained energy over the whole afternoon. Without a nap! Managed to get the entire living room/bedroom area clean, as well as the computer desk and the dresser. OK, so the kitchen, bathroom and top of the stairs still need work, but hey, that's more progress than I've made in a while. I'm going to start on the top of the stairs this afternoon, try to make room for Chuck's dresser.
I finished school Monday night. Went to class, sat through the review, and was handed a take home exam. Finished it, and turned it in Wed. afternoon. All I'm waiting on now is a few test grades (4 including the most recent one), and my certificate. Whee!
My friend Debbie came over Tuesday night and gave me a stack of clothes. All very nice, professional style work clothes. Two really nice suits for interviews, and an assortment of skirts, slacks, and blazers. Everything in the pile fits well. This rocks, less stress later. She lost weight, so none of it fits her anymore, but since I haven't been able to lose the Seroquel weight, it all fits me just fine.
Dad got through his first round of therapy fairly well, and is going this week (Tues., and Thurs.) for his next round. I feel a little better about him going this time, since he actually acknowledged that he needs a ride, and isn't insisting on driving himself. It makes my mother's day harder, but it's safer in the long run.
We even managed to come out of last week with enough money to go to the bar for the first time in forever. We didn't go in costume, but we still had a blast. Next year, I really want to dress Chuck up as Willy Wonka. The real one, not the Johnny Depp knock off. If you know what Chuck looks like, tell me that wouldn't be perfect.
Off to get some more cleaning done...
