Phone weirdness

Jul 02, 2007 08:05

So, I picked up the cordless phone the other day and after about 15 seconds, it goes dead on me.  It's been on the cradle forever so we just assumed it was about time for it to be dead anyway.  So, we went to Best Buy and bought a nifty new phone that's suppose to be wireless interference free and really good on security.

After hooking it up and putting in the batteries, we put the new phones on the cradles and left them to charge for the 16 hours it suggested.  However, after only  a couple of hours, I noticed the phone showed a message "line in use".  I picked up the handset and pressed the talk button and there was no dial tone.    Well, long story short, we think had to plug the phone into the test line in order to get it to get a dial tone.  I think the security system is screwing with the original phone line or something.

So, if you've been trying to call our house phone and you've only gotten a busy signal, I'm terribly sorry.  We just figured this out and we have no idea how long the phone's been screwy like this.  However, it should be fixed now.  And we got a nifty new phone for it all, too.

Time to go!
