Big Sister

Well we told Kailee tonight that there is a baby on the way. She pouted at first and said she didn't want a baby. But we talked to her a little bit. I told her that she would come to ultrasounds with us. And that my stomach would get big just like when she was in my tummy. If she remembered the pictures she had seen of when she was in my tummy and her ultrasound pictures. She asked if I could feel the baby move now. We told her no but in time. We settled her into bed.

Once John left to go back to the office to work, I sat by her bed and talked to her a little bit more. We talked about how the baby would be small and that he would need baby toys not her big girl toys. Since she doesn't use her baby toys she was happy to give them to him. I say him because she told me that she wants it to be a boy. I am sure that will change a million time before we find out. Daddy wants a girl. So they may have a war on their hands.

She said she would help me set up the baby's room. And she is really excited to pick out a stuffed animal for the baby. Mr Bear (her security item) was bought and named by John when Kailee came home from the hospital when she was two days old. I told her that her and Daddy could pick out an animal for the new baby and name it. She loved that. She wants to get him a bear. Though a puppy (for a boy) and a kitty (for a girl) is in close seconds.

She also can't wait til tomorrow after school when she can call Aunt Dana and tell her that she is going to be a big sister. In her words, "I am so excited." We will see how long that lasts. ~laughs~ She also wants to feel the baby kick. But she doesn't want to feed him. She was talking about what to tell him and teach him....she couldn't think of anything. So I told her that she could ask her friend Liam about it. He is four-years-old and has a baby brother who will be five-months-old in a couple days. So she plans to do that next time she sees him.

She took it a lot better than I thought she would. I just hope that we can keep her as involved as possible so she can really enjoy it. I also had another dream a few nights ago that the baby was a girl again. Though this one she was about a year old. Though as I said in the past, my dreams didn't help with predicting Kailee. Some women swear they know right away what gender they are having. Though I wasn't even sure of Kailee being a girl until I was about half way through the pregnancy. As of right now I don't have any strong feelings as to if it is a boy or girl.

6 weeks 3 days
(Anytime I post anything about my pregnancy I am going to post how far along I am at the bottom. This is just for me and future reference. I do copy and paste my entries into files and save them. That way Kailee or this new baby can go back and read them later. Noting how far along I am will make it easier to track.)
