And another thing...
- I was really displeased by the entire Remus/Tonks issue - why was he so immediately unhappy with getting married? Why did he do it in the first place? Was he really going to leave her pregnant at her parents' house? I was really, really with Harry on that outburst.
- While we're on it, why get them married, give them Teddy, and then orphan the poor kid? We never even got to know how either character was killed or who the hell took Teddy after the battle. All of the Lupin-related stuff made me grumpy.
- When everyone was arriving at The Burrow by Portkey and Lupin ID checked the first few and then they all just seemed to forget about doing it... I hated that. I spent the next several chapters wondering when that was going to come back and hurt them. I thought Ron was acting kind of weird when he and Tonks first appeared. Perhaps that was done on purpose to make us feel a little paranoid, but ugh. You were just almost killed. In fact, one of you WAS. Get your heads in the game!
- The epilogue was just... so very incomplete. What did they all do with their lives besides the obvious Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny marriages and kids? Did George keep going with the joke shop stuff without Fred? I'm assuming the Victoire mentioned was Bill and Fleur's daughter, but why didn't we get to know anything else about her? What did Percy do? For that matter, what happened with the Ministry after Voldemort fell? What happened with, you know, the entire population of wizards outside of Hogwarts at that point?! Why were only Neville and Malfoy referenced in the end? What about all the other students we've known from the beginning? What about Hagrid and Grawp and, well, all the teachers for that matter?
- The wrap-up to the whole thing was about nine pages, and it could easily have been ten times that, is all I'm saying. I love the trio, of course, but I really could have gone for a much more whole and detailed ending. The way it was felt way too simple and tacked on. And am I supposed to know why it was 19 years as opposed to some other number?
