my happily ever after :-)
I am the luckiest woman alive. My wonderful amazing boyfriend of over 5 years asked me to marry him this weekend. :-) I, of course, said yes! We're engaged! It still feels odd but very exciting to say this out loud and even a little bit on paper/computer too.
The proposal was part of a weekend-long Valentine's celebration, but the question was actually popped during a specially prepared indoor beach-themed picnic (the original plan was a real picnic but turned out to be too cold). It was very sweet & romantic surprise. The ring is a perfect, gorgeous, yellow gold 1.5 carat three stone diamond ring. A lot of people have asked me for pics, but for some reason I can't get a non-fuzzy picture with my camera. Shane apparently also took my parents out to lunch about a week beforehand to ask for their blessing, which I thought was very sweet as well. :-)
We're not planning to get married for awhile, probably next April or May when I'm about to graduate from the Master's program. Since I found out recently that I probably won't be able to live on campus next year, I'm thinking about moving in with him (he lives in a small studio apartment) this May so we can see what living together full-time is like before we get married. So much to think about, but it's all good things! I am SO happy, and Shane seems extremely happy as well.
I think that's pretty much all there is to say on that subject. I announced my engagement to my sorority tonight via our special candlelight ceremony, which was a lot of fun... but VERY difficult to not tell any of my sisters beforehand! Things in the other areas of my life are going fairly well also. I will try to update more on all of that later. Now to watch Deal or No Deal! :-)
