How time flies

Once again I lose track of how long ago my last update was...

I've been pondering some of the great mysteries of the entertainment industry recently. For instance, how high can Conan O'Brien's bouffant get before it causes his head to implode? And why does he always where pink ties? Does he not have a stylist? More importantly, why is Carrot Top's career making a resurgence? Wasn't he scary enough the first time around? Do people actually find him entertaining or does he just have a kick-ass publicist? Inquiring minds want to know!

Edited to Add: Warning! The following paragraph contains very mild Everwood spoilers in regards to its portayal of illness. However in the comments to this entry there are some major Lost spoilers! Beware!

Speaking of television, I have to say once again how awesome the show Everwood is. The writing always amazes me. You've all read my rants about how the media deals with the portrayal of cancer. If you haven't I'll sum it up in two words: craptastic and discouraging. But this show has dealt with many different kinds of illness and always surprises me. One of the main characters recently overcame cancer and her husband keeps pushing her to find something new to do with her life. And she yelled at him this excellent rant about how now that she'd overcome cancer, rather than feeling capable of doing anything, as is the usual stereotype, she just felt completely lost and unsure of what to do next. And this to me is a very familiar feeling. I think it perfectly sums up where I am right now. I don't know where to go or what to do. I'm still kind of in a state of shock at having overcome cancer so many times. And scared of course that I might have to do it again someday. You'd think I had enough time already to get over this feeling, but no. Apparently not.

Also speaking of television, I totally called what was gonna happen on Lost last night! I'm very proud of myself for this.

And rapidly switching gears again, I saw Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit over the weekend and it was fabulous! The sets in particular blew me away. But also the humor was brilliant (those crazy Brits). I fully recommend it to one and all.
