well,
balooley text messaged me and ordered me to update my blog because she likes to live vicariously through me (or so she claims). i told here that she should try updating her own blog but she made lame excuses... so anyways, her wish is my command. or is it her command is umm, my command?
went shopping with katy on saturday and spent a ridiculous amount of money. fortunately, most of what i bought was necessities, and most of it was on sale, except for the ridiculous number of products that i bought at the benefit make-up counter. i got this neat stuff called eyecon, which is supposed to fade the dark circles under my eyes, a product called dr. feelgood to put on under make-up to prevent shininess and create a smooth matte appearance, an eye make-up base called f.y.eye, and bene-tint, a stain for cheeks and lips. i wanted more stuff, but decided that i had already gone overboard. but i love their products!
you can check them out here! i also bought a pair of dkny jeans on sale, new bras and some shirts for spring. anyhow, it's a good thing i get paid tomorrow and that rent isn't due until the 1st.
katy also took me to a new cuban restaurant that was delicious! we got there just before the crowd. it would be a perfect date restaurant if i ever go on one of those again. i tried calling a certain someone this weekend, but i have yet to hear back from him, so i guess i scared away another one.
trying to get involved with a brand new arts organization called
Art Sanctuary, here in town. They want me to be their volunteer coordinator (on a volunteer basis of course) and i am a little bit wary of how much time it's going to take, what with work and chemo and me finally trying to start a cancer support network for young adult cancer survivors in the area. also, i was a little underwhelmed by the friendliness of many of the board members at the meeting i went to last night. i would be coordinating volunteers with another person who couldn't make it last night, so i'll have to meet her before i make any final decisions. however, i am much better at planning art shows than coordinating volunteers. and i think that they could use the help with their shows but they seem reluctant to take advice even though as far as i know none of them have experience in the art exhibition arena except for the two shows they've put on already. aside from my art history degree, i have run a non-profit arts organization before so i know the lack of actual organization involved, but i don't want to involve myself in something that stresses me out too much. however, i miss being involved with and surrounded by art. mostly, this is all letting me know that i eventually need to begin my very own arts organization when i'm ready and can do things my own way. =)
let's see, what else? this week begins my two week chemo break! yay!
