Cold Turkey

I am attempting to give up caffeine cold turkey on recommendation from one of my doctors. I didn't think that it would be this difficult, as I normally have maybe half a cup of coffee every other day and soda maybe three times a week. But I didn't take into account how often I take excedrin for these damn nausea drug side effect headaches/migraines. So now I'm exhausted all the time and this morning I have a bit of a caffeine withdrawal headache. Damn it! This sucks.

Yesterday at work felt like it lasted about 20 hours as opposed to eight. Today I get to escape early as I finally get to meet with my doctor for my post-CT Scan consultation. It also means that my somewhat accidental three week chemo break is ending on Monday. Sad. But, my evil sinus infection finally seems to be dissipating.

My weekend was very very low key. I was at home and in bed trying to sleep by midnight each night. I did go to see the Louisville Orchestra and assorted choirs on friday night. They were performing Carmina Burana, which is one of my favorite operas. The orchestra also performed a very modern cello concerto that did absolutely nothing for me. Apparently the composition won a Grawemeyer Award three years ago, but I just wasn't feeling it. And I tend to like ultra-modern atonal music. It's fun to play. But this was a little bit much.

This weekend was also the weekend for catching up with people that I hadn't seen in way too long. Caught up with maia, rachel and julie k, respectively. And I got a phone call from another MIA friend. Yay.

Um. Why is it snowing?

concerts, scans, cancer
