Melvin and Beverly have wireless internet. It is fun. Because I am a geek.
So last night I got only an hour of sleep tops thanks to my combined anxiety/insomnia and one of the world's hardest mattresses. No really. I actually was contemplating sleeping on the floor at one point because I thought it might be more comfortable. Tonight I have switched rooms with my mother. This bed has a tempurapedic mattress. You know, the sinky foamy kind. It feels goooood.
So. Went to Sloan Kettering today. Passed the Jewish Museum on the way and there was a line out the door and around the corner of people waiting to see the Modigliani retrospective. Hopefully, I'll get to see it tomorrow.
Anyway. Met Dr O'Conner. Naturally, he has a new opinion. He wants to turn me into a guinea pig for a drug that has never been tested on Hodgkin's disease before but that he thinks looks very promising. He also thinks that a Donor Stem Cell Transplant is pretty imminent for the future, but that it is a good idea to hold it off for as long as I can so that I can get stronger and recover further from last fall's transplant.
He said he had to have a biopsy as well. He wants to see my next CT SCAN. Then he promised to show it to his radiology guys and a radiation specialist to see if I'm eligible for different things.
A different opinion from each doctor is pretty confusing. Right now I'm leaning toward trying the chronic maintenance therapy. Can't hurt to try it and it might even work.
Saw the new Harry Potter movie this evening with my mother and second cousin David. It was very good. Much darker than the previous film, which suited my tastes very well. This is by far the best of the three films, but this film is based on the best book of the series as well.
Well, I'm off to attempt to sleep. Hopefully this lovely mattress will help me out.
