Well, it's official.
Thanksgiving is my least favorite holiday.
Thanksgiving in Pittsburgh was particularly hellish monce again. Once again because the last time I had Turkey Day there, I ended up vomiting uncontrollably for four hours straight, tearing my esophagus, and being admitted to the hospital for overnight observation. While not as physically traumatic, this year was almost as distasteful.
Highlights included:
-My uncle yelling at my grandmother until she cried while standing on my grandfather's grave.
-Thanksgiving Dinner at a hotel. (My aunt who lives in Pittsburgh owns a mansion but refused to have dinner with us in favor of her in-laws, and wouldn't let us use her house while she was elsewhere. My grandmother used to host such things but has moved into a condo that cannot hold all of the rest of us.)
-My younger sister waking my older sister and I at 5:30am and cussing us out for no good reason at all in a hotel room.
-Eight hour drive to and from Pittsburgh, with my parents nausea inducing driving.
-My grandmother with us in the car on the return eight hour trip. (She's with us for at least the next 2 weeks. Her last 2 week visit turned into 6 weeks. I'm so glad I'm moving out in 3 weeks.)
There were a couple good things. Got to see the movie Elf again. My aunt from Minneapolis and her family are wonderful and I got to hang out with them. Nice to see my sisters when they/we weren't fighting and bitching each other out. Did get back in to Louisville in time to see a couple of friends frm out of town before they left.
So how was your holiday?
On a happier note, I'd like to thank Nicole for the fantabulous package she sent me last week, which included such wonderful goodies as the Once More With Feeling episode of Buffy soundtrack and Superstars of the Eighties paper dolls. Lots of other great gifts too. I'm having lots of fun with it all.
I've been crazy busy lately getting used to my new schedule. I'm behind on my TV viewing. I have like 8 ours of shows to watch, including the two most recent Smallville. And you all know I have to be really busy not to make time to watch Smallville. I need a vacation....
