I'm no longer sure if Jeff should get badly hurt, though, because the further the chapters go, it's more clear that both he and Mr. Gordon have problems with the other; it's not a one-way thing. And if Jeff is badly hurt to guilt-trip Mr. Gordon, that could make it look like Jeff was always in the right.
