where are the police when you need them?

the grammar police, that is...

i am so tired of people putting apostrophes on plurals.

it makes me crazy.  i can't stand it.  how is it that grown adults (some would write adult's) were able to get this far in life without knowing the difference between a plural and a possessive.  gosh!  i'd hate to see what they do with a plural possessive.

you know that grammar slaps me in the face constantly. mom instilled this filter that MAKES me see things.

so i understand.

it bothers me the most when i get something from danni's school and it's got something misspelled, misused, whatever. unacceptable. i send it back with a red pen circle around it.

your icon cracks me up. this is my other pet peeve. contractions should be outlawed for idiots.

but i guess you'd have to know you were an idiot. and if you knew you were an idiot, then you'd know that your contraction was wrong.

what are we gonna do? at least i know i'm doing my part by corrupting the young minds of america into being perfectionists. ;)

hehe, i know what you mean about the mispells - even when i have customers bring me stuff to print, i notice on their business, cards, various artworks mispells right away - i thought i was the only one -

i don't let it bother me so much in someone's journal. i mean, hell, i type with no capitals, and when i use yahoo im, i rarely use punctuation.
but letters home, from teachers no less,.... i'm kinda like ianlyzu in that respect. i so badly wanna take red pen and circle stuff.
the other is on advertisements.
i guess what really gets me is the amount of mistakes our gerneration makes. however, the people i grew up with, don't generally make those mistakes. is it that the quality of schools we went to is better? or is it just that we, as a society, have become apathetic, and are willing to let this go unchecked, just as we do everything else?

juat some food for thought.
