Mr. Jones (and me...)

Good news- front page of the Orlando Sentinel this morning:

"LAKE MARY -- A highly respected and popular Greenwood Lakes Middle School teacher, who led math teams to state and national titles, cheated in some competitions and is now out of a job.

Robert E. Jones Jr., a former teacher of the year, faced certain dismissal after an investigation found he purposely entered an ineligible seventh-grader in at least four algebra competitions under the name of another student who had left the school."

I hated that guy. I was in his class. I was one of those kids who took it because of how "wonderful" mr. Jones was supposed to be. He was a perverted hick. He never, ever, ever, ever, ever, was able to help me. (I'm not as dense as I come across).

Then my 8th grade year (when I, once again, was enrolled in his class because of its 'gifted' standards) he split up the class. He kept only those students who he thought were good enough to be in his competitions. All of the other students went to this new teacher who was awful (she was often confused by the paralellogram figure stating "they should all just be squares").

I went to the other teacher.

Whatever, Mr. Jones. In high school i had Mr. Tom Smith- the greatest math teacher known to man kind. Okay, so I had a huge crush on him, leave me alone! But he was a good teacher and I scored really, really high on my SATs because of him. I love you, Mr. Smith! Then he joined the Navy. what a cool guy.

anyways, I just wanted to bash Mr. Jones. I'm finished now.
