I was telling a story in a comment to one of
rhi_silverflame's posts and suddenly cannot remember the details and this is where y'all come in. When I was growing up, probably around five (so 1987 or so) there was a tiger that was a sort of "spokes animal" for the zoo. I seem to recall there being an adult and a cub and one of them (I think the cub) was named Prince something or other. I seem to remember it being a rather British name, but I could be wrong there. Does anyone else remember this? I tried every variation of search terms I could think of in Google, all to no avail.
ETA: It was a white Bengal tiger named Prince Charles, donated to the SF Zoo in 1982. Hooray internets!
