This is when I wish the graphic design fairy would sweep in.
I think S2 is going to cause my brain to leak out my ears before I get this new layout finished.
I have the base code, but of course the colour scheme that the layout originally came in is completely different from what I want, so I have to redo the whole thing and argh, why are the designations for what these layout elements are called so arbitrary and why is this so unnecessarily complicated? I know HTML and CSS and should not have to reinvent the wheel this aggressively to be able to make LJ do what I want it to. I've designed the layout and content for entire websites in less time than I've spent just tonight on this stupid layout and I'm so far from being done I don't even want to think about it.
And to add insult to injury, I confirmed today through some judicious use of Google that no power on Earth is actually going to be able to make the scanner we have work with my computer, even if I buy replacement cables and pray to the requisite gods of cross-platform cooperation. So now on top of making the coding work the way I want it to, I have to beg poor mon_bouche to scan the picture I need for my header from the Wao concert program.
Suffice to say, I'm fairly certain I'll end up having this layout for approximately eight hundred years once I get it to work, because the effort involved at this point is not something I ever want to duplicate.
On that note, I'm going to go put away my corned beef and watch the rest of the GLAAD Awards and Me and My Girl before bed. Because Yuri and Zunko can make everything better.
