Dear Yuletide Santa, I've been v. good this year, so please bring me a pony...
Okay no, don't bring me a pony. Although, if there's a pony in my fic, that would be entertaining. Or maybe a puppy. Or a kitten.
*clears throat* Ahem, yes. Anyway.
In general, I like smut, though probably with relatively limited kink for three of the four requests. I like angst so long as it gets resolved at least somewhat. I love snark like it was my first born child. Most of my requests were pretty broad, because I really do love most everything in those fandoms.
More specifically, here's some helpful hints for specific fandoms.
I will take anything Torchwood that is Gwen/Tosh with the gleeful spasticity of a small child with her first Barbie doll. Seriously, go nuts. If you're looking for inspiration, I would not say no to that conference table in the Hub getting some unorthodox use *wags eyebrows*. I'd prefer limited amounts of Rhys angsting and/or "ohemgee I'm teh gay!" angst, but really truly, anything will make me squee and spasm and go into fits of apoplexy. In a good way, though. Also, given that we have little canon to work with thus far, don't worry if you start something and it gets Jossed RTD'd before the reveal, it's pretty much impossible to keep up with continuity sometimes with shows like that.
For Lynley, I pretty much expect angst. If you can see your way clear to /not/ have Tommy-boy angsting like the big squishy that he is, more power to you, but honestly, I'm somewhat certain he is physically incapable of lightening up for more than five minutes at a time. Emo!snoggage (or more) would be fabulous, or if you're feeling high drama, the makeup/reunion scene of DOOM. Obv. there's some AU potential here, which I'm fine with.
With Freedom and Necessity, anything anything anything with James, Susan, Richard and Kitty would thrill me to tiny pieces. I think actually this book may be one of my fandoms that is closest to my heart, so truly you can't go wrong. I'd love, love some post-novel fic, with Susan settling in again with James in the States, dealing with James being hurt and Kitty and Richard being back in England. And ya know, can't go wrong with smut and dorky, geeky pillow talk, as is James and Susan's tendency.
With the Merry Gentry series, things are slightly different, in that things that I normally am not a huge fan of (threesomes, more involved kink, more violence) are completely in keeping with canon and thus are a-okay. Much as I love fluff, it's just going to be harder to do with these characters, I would think. I love, love the use of magic in these stories, so that would be fantabulous if you can find your way clear to fit some in.
Really though, please please just write what moves you! The more you enjoy writing the more I'll probably enjoy reading, and to get /anything/ in these fandoms is such a treat I can hardly even begin to think about complaining!
