I met up with
elinor_dear at a coffee shop. It's a cute little occult place with an odd variety of things for sale and comfy sofa to sit on while we consumed our beverages. Then it was off to El Guero Canelo - which is an authentic Sonoran restaurant where they serve grilled green onions in the salsa bar. OMG - these green onions are normally large, but tonight they were HUGE. These ones were, well, I think phallic is really the only word that accurately describes them, two of these on my plate, yeah, that's really what it looked like. I should have had her take a picture to post.
Then we were off to a toy store. It was like reliving my childhood. All my favorites were there. And these are quality toys. Very little plastic. They make this stuff to last for generations.
The movie was Julie and Julia. While we were waiting for it to begin, we were chatting about a friend of Erika's and she was saying of this friend, "All her safewords are in Klingon."
OMG! I laughed so hard. Those aren't really words that most people combine into a sentence, and that description of her friend made me feel pretty mainstream. There was a huge black Newfoundland service dog in the theater who wanted to eat all the popcorn on his way in, but then was very well behaved, more so than the couple in front of us who felt the need to talk through the movie. But the movie was good, cute and funny.
