Well, that was mildly awful

Note to self: STOP GETTING INVOLVED IN FANDOM WANKERY.  FOR SERIOUS.

Can anyone recommend me something nice and romantic and fluffy to take my mind off of things?  You know my preferences by now, I think. XD

ffs

THIS-----http://keiramarcos.com/2010/04/06/tangled-destinies-genesis/

It's a sweet re-write of the New Trek where using Vulcan euphemisms Spock calls T'Pring something not nice and convinces his father of the logic of moving to Earth so Amanda is happy whereupon he meets an Empathic, partial Betazoid Jim Kirk who is being raised by Pike. Amanda refers to Spock and Jim's relationship as a Bromance. And she teases Sarek about researching human male bonding rituals in order to establish a (platonic) Bromance with Pike. It's a series. The next story will be here May 6th. There are 5 planned so far and Keira's stories are almost always novellas or novels.

OMG I just read this yesterday! And I've spent most of today bewailing the fact that the next part isn't up until May. T_T Thanks for the rec, though! Do you know, does she have other stuff up at the same site?

She writes SGA and Sentinel slash. She has a rewrite of SGA where McKay didn't go on the original expedition. John is badass and Rodney pretty much blows up a planet at one point because they kidnapped John and refused to give him back. That's the What Might Have Been Series---http://keiramarcos.com/stargate-atlantis-fan-fiction/what-might-have-been-series-atlantis-au/... )

Aww, man, further evidence that I need to get into SGA. XD

Ahhhh, but the wonder of Keira is that you don't need to know SGA. I don't. I've seen maybe 3 episodes. Hers are AU's and when she does refer to something from the series she provides enough background that you get it anyway. The Sentinel Fusion is a complete and total rewrite of the Show from before episode one. In fact she's writing each story as an episode. See, isn't it wonderful?

* lays out cookies trail* You know you want to. I mean just think of all that wonderful, snarky goodness from Rodney because Yes, dammit, he *IS* the smartest man on two worlds and then John's cocky attitude and his tendency to *lean* on things while watching Rodney. He's smart too. Intelligence and Hotness squared. And the fluffy, cuddly sweet moments. And the Hotness. It bears repeating. Plus AU. And Awesome.

She writes SGA and Sentinel just as Perfectly as she wrote her Star Trek ficcy......And you loved that one....

:D Feel free to kidnap them and put them to work. I just try to make fics I rec as enticing as possible, which is mainly just expressin an opinion of how awesome they are.

Oh and thought. SGA/Star Trek. This thought is too lovely not to share. So, Rodney's working with Vulcans. One is Spock and one is not. The one that is not says something snotty about Spock's theory and/or work.

Rodney looked over at his newest minion. He'd been assured that this one had a brain. It was part of the prerequisite for the species. At least that's what current theory indicated. Apparently it was wrong because while Spork's theory hadn't been perfect, it was probable. This one's though was wrong, wrong. Wrong. Apparently he'd gotten rid of Kavanaugh only to get the Vulcan upgrade of him. He really needed a better screening process. "I thought you were supposed to be smart. What happened? Were you dropped on your head as a kid?"

I actually have a plot bunny about an SGA/Star Trek fusion where Rodney is the scientist and he's thinking he's going to get put on the Enterprise for a big science mission only to get put on a different ship with the wrong half-Vulcan (John).

Sheppard was raised by his Human father but he was trained to handle his mental abilities. It's just Rodney is really unprepared for his half-Vulcan Captain to lounge around the ship half-smirking, leaning on everything, and laughing at him silently. And besides he'd really been looking forward to working with Spock. LOL.

*snickers* Oh my. Poor, poor Rodney. *Blinks* John in Pon Farr? With Rodney? Oh, wow. Hmmm. Keira, your mind is a treasure.

Rodney and Spock meeting. That would be interesting. Rodney snarking and Spock being snippy. But with john, with John we get the badassness and smex. John and kirk meeting and commiserating...your snippets are the equivalent of Plot bunny fertilizer.

Since that bunny would be at home in my Tangled Verse-- I have a lot of writing before I can insert John and Rodney into that universe.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees! OMG I love her stuff so much. ^_^ Might be time for a reread of "How High the Moon", though; it's been a few weeks since the last time I went through that one. XD

She's been updating the Bases Series.... It's awesome. Wonderful. Must Read. And I utterly love that story, "How High the Moon." And she's even inspired me to go write Protective Spock academy fic.
