Oh, the poor, stupid boys. Gah. Am running on to the next part now, but I had to leave a short note to express my utter frustration at the emotional ineptitude here. I do not know whether to laugh or cry.

Oh, the poor Watson. his absence, however, had driven home the fact that last night’s activities were as detached from the warmth of human emotion as were any of his chemical experiments. I deplored the thought of making myself vulnerable only to have him look upon me with disdain or, infinitely worse, with pity.

How horrible, to finally touch the sun only to find that it burns you with bitterness. (and the angst is really delicious, BTW)

Though I know not when, I had at some point fallen most foolishly in love with Sherlock Holmes.

Oh, the woobie. *pets the Watson*

reluctant to add any fuel to the fire of Holmes’s mockery.

Oh Watson, it's fondness and delight, not mockery. Holmes, you magnificent moron. Can't you see how you're hurting him?

And this last line just made me tear up:

“Please, Watson, do not think any more of moving out. I fear the place should not be the same without my Boswell in residence again.”Does Holmes *know* that he just told Watson that no one else in the world will do for him? That he just ( ... )

Heeeeeeee! Thanks so much! ^_^

Does Holmes *know* that he just told Watson that no one else in the world will do for him? That he just confessed his undying love and devotion and would rather be alone for the rest of his days than live without him?

Of course he doesn't. Just like he didn't realize in The Sign of the Four that he was totally courting Watson and trying desperately to make him choose him over Mary. (HE MAKES A REFERENCE TO HIS UNDERRATED TALENT AT DOMESTICITY, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE. *ahem* Sorry. Really, though, that is the slashiest book ever despite the fact that one of the characters gets married at the end.)

See icon, replace name. -_-

You fascinate me. Your stories and your insights into the characters. Truly, I think about your fic when I should be doing really important things, like defibrillating someone. it's insane.

anyway, while I was busy giving heart medicine at work today, i was thinking that Holmes might be some flavor of autistic. His genius brain, combined with a noticeable problem coping with activities of daily life, would put him smack dab in the middle of that diagnosis.

And now I have to go and read the Sign of the Four. I've been avoiding it because, you know, the marriage thing. But if it's not too heart rending, marrying Watson off, I guess I'll give it a go. *G*

More specifically, there's a theory that both Sherlock and his brother Mycroft might have had Asperger's Syndrome. There's actually an article out there somewhere on this that I can't seem to find right now. I'll keep an eye out, though, and I'll link it if I find it ( ... )
