I had a really hard time starting writing today! I blame the fact that I had to work on a Sunday. :(
And then my mother insisted I help her make pumpkin pie. :)
But eventually I sat down and wrote a bit! I'm not too happy with the beginning, but it just kinda started flowing history before I started the actual main character's actions. I think come editing time (whenever that may be), this chunk will be moved to the middle of the story instead of the begining. But...it's all coming out in whatever order it's coming in. I'm not going to let any of this worry, self editing hold me back this year. It might come out total crap (which I hope not, I love my story idea!), but at least I'm writing again.
