Phrasing is everything.

This morning was the end of the doctor visit marathon. (Knock on wood.) We saw a different allergist for some reason, I'm not sure why. So I gave the run down on why were going to see the GI doc and said "So we still don't know exactly why he's reacting to all these foods." And the doctor said "Because he's allergic to them."

WHY HAS NO ONE SAID IT LIKE THIS BEFORE?????????

Seriously.

The other allergist told me that G had a "immature gut" and gave me the impression that because he didn't have a positive allergy test and he didn't break out in hives that it wasn't really an allergy. If we can call it all allergies, then I can stop tilting at windmills looking for the problem.

*headdesk*

It has not been our best week. G has had horrible diapers and tummy problems. I've been trying to figure it out all week and blamed the vitamins (I still think he has a problem with beta carotene) and after a week of phone tag with the GI office, I find out there's a bad tummy bug going around. I never thought of that. I hear hoofbeats and assume zebras (allergies) because for us, that's what it usually is.

We're waiting on the results of the stool sample, (probably next week) to see if there's anything else going on, but I think I'm satisfied for now.

Related, finding adult vitamins that are suitable for a two year old (Like not a chokable) and that don't contain any of the things he's avoiding is harder than one might think.
