Ta da! My lastest effort, completed over Christmas (but not yet framed, it's a funky size.)
This is my current project; it's my b-day present from Brandy, and the dragon on the left is done, except for the metallics. I'm replacing the "Welcome" with "Griffin," using the chart the design contained, since I'm out of room in my front room and I'm probably going to hang it on in my bedroom, and having a sign that says "Welcome" over my bed is a little problematic.
I have pictures from law prom on facebook; shutterfly hates me, so a full album isn't up yet. For now, here's a sample:
Why do you hate me, digital zoom? When I have the $$$ (and I can get my skates off after triple-lutzing in hell) I'm so getting a camera with a real optical zoom.
A good time was had by all, including me, slightly to my surprise; I came prepared to make an apeparance and then vamoos if things got too lame. But I cleaned up at the blackjack table, only leaving when my butt was completely numb from the stupid wooden stool, having at one point doubled my money. Too bad it wasn't real! (Although I would never have had the courage to risk it if it had been real). Then I busted a move on the dance floor, although the shoes I wore were REALLY not helpful. Um, ow. I'm not as sore as I would have been, although the slickness of the soles almost landed me on my butt a of couple of times. We all left before the weather got as truly nasty as it would be on Saturday, thank God for that.
Saturday I went to work (made $3125), went to Target (and in my worry about being out in that weather forgot half of what I went there for), then came home and hid inside most of the day. Today was much the same, only inverted; I slept/stayed in bed way too late, since to save money my apartment is cold, hence the only truly warm spot was in bed under all the covers. I finally dragged myself up and went to work, then came straight home again. I've been stapled to Wicked practically since I started it on Friday, and wasted precious outlining time finishing it after I got home. I'll post my deep thoughts and impressions about it tomorrow, but it's getting late, and I need to get to bed. I have one thing I have to do tomorrow, but other than that, I'm staying hidden in this apartment. No one should be driving in that weather, especially someone who's as terrified of ice driving as I am. Next stop on the reading list:
1776, whichI doubt I will finish as quickly as I finished Wicked for a variety of reasons. Mmm...books... I'd forgotten how much I loved books. And I should probably forget it again, since PC looms, and then, bye-bye to reading that's not directly related to something I expect to get grilled on in class. Sigh.
