I Hate People Sometimes
A lot of people don’t know this about me but one of my hobbies is writing fanfiction. I started to write a HP/Jurassic Park crossover earlier last year and stated when I put it out for people to read that updates were going to be EXTREMELY slow due to outside influences (ie: work and family obligations) and that if people didn’t like the pace, they could choose not to follow it.
This morning I received this review and it pissed me off:
“I'll follow this story on the very (almost zero) slim chance you actually finish this. I do like it very much, but it's taken nearly two years for you to write what barely amounts to a short story worth of words.“
So I sent them this reply back because I was that pissed:
“Could you be any more condescending? Writing is not my job. It’s a hobby. I work 40+ hours a week in a management position in addition to taking care of my grandson. I do not have the time to write every single day, week, month...
I would really appreciate it if you DON’T follow my story if that’s the way you’re going to be. I have said it many times...updates will be slow. If it takes me another two years to finish it then it’ll take me another two years to finish it.
I do NOT appreciate your comments and ask that next time you keep them to yourself.”
