Estrella Spanish Woolen Gown in Purple

I

I finally picked a gown!! But in Red? No thank you!  This is my Stash Challenge so everything is from what I have on hand, which is a lot I have to say. I have 10 yards of deep purple wool I have not used so it is now being used!

Here I am using cotton canvas for the interior lining,

This is the blue canvas and then the raspberry lining fabric to the body.

This is the line drawing I did to follow on the machine.

This is what I think is called "Bag Lining" and it is putting the rights together and then sewing around, making sure you leave space for the piece to be turned out later, then you turn it out and press it down it hides all of the raw edges inside and makes for a nice neat finish.

This is the set of Spanish Sleeves waiting for the last piece which is handwork to close the side and wrist parts. I am heading to a friend tonight to get my fitting and questions on my closure for the doublet and then I will cut the Wool and do the trim all around it and then begin the last of the Doublet.  I am going to use an Elizabethan technique via my sewing machine for the skirts so that will happen this weekend.  Should be very simple, and easy (famous last words!).
