Hanasaku Irona: Episode 1

Just watched the first episode, and the beginning kind of reminded me of Gokinjo Monogatari  except that Ruriko while being irresponsible wouldn't have run away with a boyfriend without taking her daughter with her. It was at this point that things stopped resembling Gokinjo Monogatari. So our protagonist Ohana goes to live with her grandmother in a Taisho Era hot springs inn, thinking that she would have some semblance of a normal life, with a grandmother who gives her sweets. However things don't quite go as planned.

Her grandmother Shinjima Sui is a scary strict woman who very plainly tells Ohana that she means nothing to her as she had disowned her mother, and that she much now work at the Inn to earn her room and board. Ohana doesn't have much luck with her uncle Enishi is not help either. The other inhabitants/employees of the Inn are just as odd, leaving Ohana to say 'things have taken a turn for the weird' life is very different at the Inn and its going to take some time for her to settle in.

I don't really know what to think about this series at the moment; but I'm rather exhausted and sleep deprived at the moment, and coherent thought seems like too much effort at the moment, but I'm not too sure about this one. It's not like what I expected, but it hasn't interested me enough to want to watch the next episode, but I may give this one another go and decide after the second episode if I'm going to commit to this series.

On a different note, my internet speed it just as fast a bullet train today!

my useless opinion, anime rant
