You won't remember me, but my name is Kira Ashikira. I was with Reeve Tuesti when he visited Gongaga not too long ago, and my husband and I work with him occasionally as a member of the WRO's army. We were both members of SOLDIER, and in addition to lending our aid to the WRO, we would like to extend what help we can to you and those gathered with you.

The world feels so...empty now.
Of course, that could just be more of my whining over things that I have no right to be whining about, but...it's more than that. No one around, and those who do come to the cafe are scared. They don't say it, and a lot of it has been masked in the partying going on over San's return, but I know they're scared. After all, all they had to do for a reminder that Sephiroth is back was glance over at the wall. Damn repairmen still haven't gotten around to fixing that. So very few people come, and all my contacts seem to be busy or have just vanished. It was getting to the point where I was considering calling Hojo, just to have someone to snark at. Common sense prevailed on that point, unfortunately.
But the cafe is closed today, and I'm sitting on the back steps sharpening my weapon. Shani's fallen out of use - the red of the blade has dulled, the grip worn down and the blades themselves are nowhere near as sharp as they used to be. Like any well-used blade, it has memories. Time was I wouldn't leave my room without it with me. And after every mission, I'd spend time polishing it, working on it until I could see my reflection in the scarlet metal. Even when we were busy fighting AVALANCHE and when the world started going to hell, I spent time doing that. The weapon has a soul, Muramasa told me when he gave it to me. Take care of her and she'll take care of you.
Neglecting the soul, huh...
There's a lot going on now. Somehow, some way, I need to help fight. Aside from helping, if I can prove to myself that I haven't lost my touch and turned into the perfect little housewife, well, that's even better.
For now, though, taking care of Shani is enough.
