Getting Closer
Figuring that it has been a long while since I updated my LJ, now is probably a good time for it. So, here is a breakdown with what has happened to me since I last made a worthwhile post:
1. Movie is still not finished. I wish it was, but it is not.
2. I bought new computer pieces and put together a pretty sweet machine for about $1,500. Also bought Avid to go with it.
3. Graduated college magna cum laude. Pretty sweet if you ask me.
4. Finally got an address for myself in NZ. If you want it, let me know.
5. Got an iPod (60 gig) and a RAZR as graduation presents. REALLY sweet.
6. Am leaving for New Zealand Thursday morning. Here is the travel itinerary (all times are EST):
Boston to Los Angeles: 8:00am-2:31pm (6:30 hours Feb 9th)
Layover in LAX: 2:31pm-11:30pm (9:00 hours Feb 9th)
LAX to Auckland, NZ: 11:30om-12:00pm (12:30 hours Feb 10th)
Layover AUK: 12:00pm-6:00pm (6:00 hours Feb 10th)
AUK to Wellington: 6:00pm-7:00pm (1:00 hour Feb 10th)
I will wind up in Wellington at 1:00pm local time on Feb 11th. I will be traveling for a total of 35 hours, including layovers.
7. Saw lots of awesome friends and family to say good-bye, and missed a few as well, which makes me sad.
8. Learned a really big secret that is awesomeness and fun. But I won't tell any of you about it.
So that's the update. I am spending today packing up my things. I was pretty relaxed until about 1pm this afternoon. Now I feel a little frazzled, but probably because I have to cook dinner and pack and have to be conscious at about 4am tomorrow, and am running on very little sleep (been staying up late the last few nights doing important stuff). I just feel lazy, really. I kinda just want to stay in Shrewsbury and sleep for a few days. The thought of traveling to NZ, then needing to set up bank accounts and internet accounts and buy a computer monitor and power cables and groceries and warm-weather clothing is just a little daunting. Probably because I am tired.
I have some happy pills for the flight. But I am not looking forward to those two craptastic layovers. I will do a lot of reading.
