You&Jin's songs - My review

May 16, 2010 20:36

I decided to put my Sakura girl post on hold because I feel the urge to do this long last write-up about the songs that appeared in You&Jin shows. Obviously, I'm no pro critic and certainly I have no solid background to judge anything about Jin's musical talent. But from a viewpoint of a fan and music lover, I give myself the rights to at least ( Read more... )

hey I by chance clicked You and Jin friends link, and read your comments on You&Jin songs.

Being his fan, I love to read what people think about his music, his interest and his dream instead of mere kyaaaaaaaaa he's cute~stuffs~;P So I'm really happy I read your article.

Actually I was listening to You&Jin fanrecords, when I found out your piece^^. I agree with a lot of thing you wrote, especially the part about American music and auto-tune.

The first time I listened to You&Jin, I was not impressed by many songs there, the auto-tune thing really made my heart sink...I hate it. For me, it's like a virus in the music world these days. I prayed hard hoping Jin wouldn't be contaminated, but it didn't work...in fact, he's too happy jumping into this stupid music trend~silly boy sigh~

The first song saved me from disappointment was Paparats, which was written by Kaneko Nobuaki (the drummer in Bandage, and also the drummer in Rize in real life). Hallelujah was also a gift. I already heard Eternal but his solo version was even better~(if Jin won't sing Eternal in his LA live, I swear I would sell all my tickets~|o|)

I was mostly disappointed by Reset...you know what makes auto-tune even more annoying? It's when it's used in a beautiful song. I don't mind auto-tune in Going because the song is crap without auto-tune. Reset could be a real beautiful healing song without auto-tune...Jin didn't realize how wrong the auto-tune he used in that song~sigh

Keep it up, INP and Hey girl were the three songs I wish I won't have to hear when I'm there. First one was too American club song like...noisy, second one was stupid, the last one had really disturbing lyrics.

I probably had the same feeling as you when I first heard Christmas Morning. However, no matter how weird was it, I had to admit that I really loved it after I listened to it for a couple of times. I truly love it...and it became my second favorite after Paparats among all the new songs. Which makes me think maybe even in the most crappy genre, there's still something good/interesting existing...depends if the musician can dig it out or not. I love rock and always see it as the best genre existing but I have to say there are lots of crap going on in this genre. I totally wish the auto-tune trend will die in the next minute, and I won't miss it for one second, but I start to think maybe this genre has a little of its own thing...maybe if you use it in a right thing at a time, it brings out something interesting too. I actually think the D-motion was an interesting try. I liked TDM more than LY in the last single.

I was quite surprised that Jin wrote all the interlude and the dance music in You&Jin. They were pretty good indeed. He seemed quite unhappy with some pieces and he'd like to fix them for the LA lives. I hope he's talking about those stupid party songs. He better throw them away and remain those Japanese songs, especially Eternal.

wow such a long reply~hides~

BTW, if you are going to the live too, you can write to UTB to request Eternal and other Japanese songs you like.
