Medical Lottery
I've won again...this time it's a kidney stone. Right now it's not hurting too badly, but I do wish the danged thing would pass already!
Last Tuesday around 4 in the morning, I started to have somewhat severe pain in my side/back. I also started vomiting (...yay). Any way, I stuck it out til hubby came home and then we were off to the ER. Fortunately there was almost no one there, so I got in and was seen fairly quickly.
I had a CAT scan done and they found a 4mm stone in my right kidney. They also gave me an IV to replace the fluids that I'd lost throwing up. The doc there told me that it could take up to 3 weeks for the stone to pass.
I've been drinking water like crazy and occasionally taking pain meds when the pain gets too severe. I can't wait for this to go away!!
