Kat, Ceinwen, Serena, and I went to the Baronial Investiture at Cynnabar this past weekend. While the event was small, it was well attended and fun. I got to meet some new people and to hang out with some old friends. It was so nice to see everyone. :-)
I was introduced to a sweet older woman. She asked me if I was someone important because of my coronet; I told her no. But another friend said that I was just being too shy...
My day went well. I felt pretty good for most of the event. The only issues I had came at the end of the day; I had muscle spasms in my back. I'm very grateful that I managed to have that long pretty much pain free! Yay!
There was a choral group singing before court began. They were amazing! I could have listened to them sing for a long, long time! They also sang the new baron and baroness in as they processed into Their Majesties' presence. While the outgoing baron and baroness relinquished their cloaks and coronets, I noticed that the baroness had gold bees on her belt. Since I'm a member of the Sisterhood of the Gilded Bee, I'm always on the lookout for sources of gold colored bees. Later, the baroness was kind enough to tell me that they had ordered the bees on line at Revival. If they're not too pricey, I want to get some to put on my belt.
I had Kat take me back to the hotel so I could take some pain meds and anti-spasmodics. I was feeling much better by the time she made it back with the Princess and Serena. We all ended up sleeping in til 10am! The trip back home was uneventful which is always good. :-)
I'm most likely not going to any events until the end of May. Crown Tournament is in Ft. Mitchell, KY on Memorial Day weekend. I'm planning on going to it with Kat and Akira. I hope to have a couple of new gowns done by then as well as one for Kat. I have some red linen that I want to make up for her into a new 10 gore gown. I also have yardage for 2 tunics for Akira as well.
That's about it for now. I should go. I'm planning on going to the local Social Security office in the morning to make my second appeal.
