Movies: Day 01- The best movie you saw during the last year
I didn't see a whole lot this past year, but of those? Probably Avatar. No, it's not an original story, but what is anymore? The best movies nowadays are those who can successfully tell an old story in a new way. I was of course muchly impressed by the detail of the special effects, ( Read more... )

Seriously...I may steal this meme from you. But first...

Farscape had its promised fifth season brutally yanked out from under it (fucking Sci-Fi Channel)
Amen, sister. Amen. With all the ridiculous, CRAPTASTIC nonsense that channel spews, you'd think it would want to hold on to the one show that made it legit.

And...I understand the other stuff is cheaper to make, blah, blah, blah...but when you have a quality show with great characters, interesting story lines, and decent special effects - even if it's gonna cost you a little extra green stuff - you let it ride. Especially when there's just one season left. It's my understanding that the 5th season was gonna be it, and as such, the writers intended to wrap everything up. Maybe not in a nice, neat little package (if they did, it wouldn't be "Farscape," now would it?), but larger issues would have be resolved.

And while I understand why you'd ultimately choose T:SCC to represent a show that shouldn't have been canceled...I wasn't a big fan of "The Peacekeeper Wars." It was too...different. Too much time had passed, and too many things had changed. Maybe they were just little things, maybe I'm being too nitpicky. But it was enough to put me off...

I tried T:SCC, but never really got into it. I think the idea had potential, but I'm not sure I liked the way it was executed. I've never seen "Firefly," although I LOVE "Serenity"...

If I'd answered this meme at a different time - maybe even a few hours' difference, I could easily have put Farscape. Hell, look at my username! Just thinking about Farscape's treatment even now makes me really angry - I could see TSCC's end coming, but Farscape's was like being slapped in the face with a brick. You know, I'm half-tempted to revise my answer just talking about this.

TSCC definitely had its ups and downs, but the potential I saw there was enough to keep me with it.
