I've only been to work two days this week, but I'm already ready for the week to be over.
-- HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
leia_naberrie! :D *squishes* May your day be filled with awesomeness in whatever form you desire, sweetie.
-- I guess what they say about celebrities going in threes is true. (Ed, Farrah, and now Michael.) Even as a child of the '80s I can't say I was a fan of MJ's - not an avid dislike by any stretch; it simply wasn't my taste in music. My strongest memory is hearing "Beat It" in the Cafe '80s scene in Back to the Future Part 2 and how much it lended to the, well, unabashed '80s-ness of the scene. I've never even listened to Thriller. That said, there's no denying his impact on the music industry and pop culture, and I went o_O on hearing of his death. Not to mention, he broke the internet! Well, LJ, anyway. It does make me a little sad to think of his three young children, though, and the rest of his family.
-- One thing I do like about summer TV doldrums? The added motivation to catch up on long-lost favorites. On a sort of random impulse, last night I began a rewatch of season 1 of Veronica Mars, making it all the way through "Return of the Kane." (Shit, I will never be able to hear "Ventura Highway" without thinking of that brutal, brutal yet amazing scene near the end, one of the best in the entire series.) Season 2 lost some of the sparkle and I fell off completely about a third of the way through the final season, but season 1 was some damn solid television. I may do a bit of a rewatch writeup later.
-- When I picked up Oz at the vet Wednesday, they told me they weren't able to trim Oz's claws because he struggled and resisted so much that he wound up horribly scratching the veterinarian. *facepalm* Mom thinks I need to take him to another vet who'll be willing to do his nails, or at least ask whether this one would be willing to sedate Oz. I get the feeling that no matter who I take him to he's going to fight.
-- Roughly three weeks until Wicked comes to Tulsa! (Okay, so it's actually 5 weeks until I see it.) Squee! Hopefully it'll take my mind off of missing Azkatraz.
