-- So Oklahoma may have its
first case of swine flu. Looks like it's an isolated case unrelated to any of the other US outbreaks so far, though; the guy apparently just got back from Mexico. Health Department's already come back with negative tests on five other possibles.
-- Mom has agreed she definitely doesn't want to send me to Mexico for dental work any time soon. ;) Still planning on going to Florida, though, unless the flu thing really takes a turn for the worse between now and then. And even if for some reason it does really start to resemble Captain Trips (which I doubt)... hey, if we're all doomed, all the more reason to party while you can!
-- On a semi-related note, last night I found where someone has uploaded the entire The Stand miniseries on YouTube. (At seven minutes a chunk for a six hour miniseries? DAMN, that's a lot of uploading.) I watched about the first half hour, and did a double-take at one point early in the outbreak where you hear a radio report that the little Texas town where Trips started to spread is being quarantined for what the government is calling a strain of "swine flu." Comforting. ;)
-- Looks like the last day Fanboys is playing around here is tomorrow. Guess if I'm going to catch it again before the DVD release, I need to do it tonight or tomorrow.
-- Sent my final - at least for the foreseeable future - email to Dad last night, replying to that WTF email he sent me a few days ago. I really have nothing more to say, nor any desire to see him, so even if he does send a reply, I doubt I'll read it anytime soon. He and Janet seem to be just fine with that, as his birthday is tomorrow and they've not said a word to us about any invitation to do birthday stuff for him.
