Comment on this post. I will choose seven userpics from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are using them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so others can play along.

MJG chose seven for me:

1.

Occasional issues with Natalie's performance aside, I love Padme. Not quite as much as her deliciously fucked-up husband, but she's still the voice my SW muse speaks through most often. This girl was more than able to hold her own alongside an army of Jedi in a battle-crazed arena, and - on a slightly shallower note - she held out a lot longer than I would've cozied away alone with a gorgeous guy who worshiped me. ;) And heck, she managed to get the Jedi Olympic Brooding Champion himself to snap out of it to go save Obi-Wan with her, an accomplishment that by itself practically deserves a gold medal. And at the end of RotS, she's the one character whose faith remains most intact. She's not a firebrand like her daughter, but she's still incredibly strong in many ways, more than capable of taking care of herself - and I wanted an icon that reflected that. Post-RotS, I actually find the "No Damsel In Distress" tag more ironic: she never wanted to be saved - but it's the one she cares for most, the one who most tries to save her, not heeding her wishes and obsessively pursuing a course of action that does destroy her.

2.

Ah, John and Aeryn. One of my all-time favorite TV ships, and - IMO - one of the most consistently well-handled. "A Human Reaction" remains one of my favorite FS episodes, and this particular J/A scene was very sweet and sexy. Ben Browder and Claudia Black's chemistry was always white-hot, and this moment was definitely no exception. And yes, they totally did it after this scene faded to black. ;)

3.

Ahem. Well, what is there to say about this icon? Post-HBP, I was... sorely disappointed in how the H/G relationship was handled. Some of the most common responses (from certain factions) to complaints like mine were that we weren't accepting H/G was canon... which is bull. I accepted H/G was canon, but it didn't mean I had to like it. Hence the icon.

4.

I forget where I stumbled across this icon. But when I saw it... a combination of HP and The Office, and featuring a cute/smirky!Jim, no less? Had to have it. :)

5.

I may not be a huge Xander fan, but damned if he didn't get a bunch of the best quotes on Buffy. This one always made me giggle. It's kind of the Xanderspeak equivalent/proof of Qui-Gon's excellent "The ability to speak does not make you intelligent."

6.

Right after seeing Wicked when it came to Oklahoma City, I madly hunted down icons for it. "No Good Deed" ties with "Defying Gravity" as my favorite numbers from the musical. (Even though this icon is evidently from the London production, which I haven't seen, but eh well.)

7.

Eeee! My favorite non-hanging-with-friends moment from Celebration IV. Actually "meeting" the lady behind my girlhood idol, and my second favorite SW character. And Carrie was so nice - her lines were always HOURS long, yet she didn't rush anyone through, autographing and taking pictures with everyone.

That was kind of fun. :)

Oh, and slightly humorous RL anecdote:

On the news this morning, there was a blurb about how the first confirmed influenza case of the season had been documented in my county. I get to work, and there I quickly learn that that confirmed case? Someone who works in our agency. And it's not just one case, it's closer to 10.

Some of you may remember... I work for the state health department. Heh. *g*

wicked, the office, harry potter, star wars, buffy, farscape
