So, we did get a nifty Christmas present from JKR - the book 7 title!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Well, at first glance, I think I like it (though as usual I'm in a minority :P). At the very least, it definitely piques my curiosity as to what it refers to.
As others have stated, the reference to Halloween is very apt - considering that's when it all started for Harry - and hallows being shrines that hold sacred/saintly objects. (Horcruxes, perhaps?) And it's nice to have something to refer to it by now, instead of "Book 7."
I do wish there was less gritching out there about the title and more genuine speculation about what it means, though. The title may sound weird now, but there have been titles I've in the past thought sounded weird at first glance but later on upon seeing it in the context of the story, liked a lot better. (The Phantom Menace, for one, but I'm sure I'm in a minority there too.)
ETA: In less fun news, I appear to be fighting off a cold. I woke up several times during the night feeling utterly stopped up. I'm out of antihistamines so I took a shower and that seemed to clear me up a bit, so I went ahead and came in to work, but now I feel like absolute shite. Still stopped up no matter how often I blow my nose, and achy. I'd go home, but right now I don't know if I trust myself to drive. Dammit, of all the times of year to get sick - I hope this clears up before we go to Missouri on Saturday...
