Not dead yet!

Haven't fallen off the face of the planet, just haven't felt like I've had anything even remotely interesting to share.

Been a busy costume week between the Cemetery Potluck and Halloween. I got outfits for K. and I done for the Potluck and she worked on her outfit for Halloween. (She went as some anime character. It was a painted hoodie.)

Yesterday was a day off of school for the kidlet so we went down to Occupy DC and helped out! She hauled water and did dishes, I did dishes and started a bunch of people on knitting projects. I was filmed by a German news crew and fellow knitters were interviewed.

I've been taking supplies down and making hats and scarves for the Occupy DC peeps, as well.

Now that the Oct. busy season is out of the way, I'm going to try to go on Fridays to help out.

Missed Halloweening last night due to migraine. :-(

Am reading an really interesting book called "Inheriting the Trade". It's about a modern group of cousins exploring their connections to the largest slave trading family in the States in the 18th century and dealing with the issues surrounding that. I'll post more in depth when I'm done.

Other than that, not much else is going on. We'll get the kid's first set of grades sometime this week and if all goes well we're looking at something between 7 As and a B or 6 As, a B, and a C. So much better than last year!

And that's all the news for Chez Whitby. Hope y'all had a nice Halloween/blessed Samhain.
