Warning: [fully justified] Rant Below
So I'm at work, and my little sister juneheather calls me from home in a rather perturbed state of mind.
See, earlier this winter my sisters and I spent a weekend carving out a snow tunnel on the corner across from our house. The snow there was piled up deep enough by the street plow, and our tunnel ended up about seven feet long, average a foot and a half of snow above it, with an air hole and a side tunnel. Lots of fun, and big enough for our dad to fit through.
Since we finished it late last month, we've only had one or two snows deep enough to bring the plow to our little road. Both times our tunnel face got a bit buried, but nothing serious.
Well! Today the plow came again to scrape the slush of melting ice off our road. Again, no major effect on the tunnel. BUT! After finishing the job, the tractor plow driver deliberately dropped a shovel full of snow on top of the tunnel, and then, in full view of my watching younger siblings, SCOOPED UP THE WHOLE TUNNEL! WRECKED THE WHOLE EXCAVATION! (My brother "Aviator", who is old enough to vote, was there and says it was definitely done with malice aforethought.) The cowardly man then drove off at a good speed.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM?! The slug. It was clearly a man-made tunnel. He saw the kids were watching him wreck our hard work. It wasn't obstructing anything! We never dump snow in the road. We've never done anything to him. ARGH!
