Narnia Costume Burbling

May 20, 2011 20:28

Okay, I promised this, so I will deliver.  Even if no one is interested.  : P  Because I enjoy thinking about these simple, fun things after a rotten day at work.

Shoes:  There are actually a wide variety of shoes that would work.  The best choices will look made of leather.  Sandals of various different types, boots (these are lovely expensive ones...), or flats (these are pretty, too). I will be wearing my beat up old riding boots, kinda like these.

Accessories: So far in the movies we've seen necklaces, rings, and crowns.  Oh, and capes.  But no hats.  I wonder what the reasoning behind that is?  /rabbit trail
Narnian jewelry, IMHO, is a mixture of art-deco and delicate old fashioned pieces.  This would obviously be tough (and expensive) for us to find.  But look at these!  I could never afford them, but I like to look.  They are so Narnian!  We will just have to be inspired with the general feeling to look for...

Silver leaf "Pod" necklace
Yes, I have been collecting these pictures.  : P
So. Art-Deco, Victorian, or pieces involving nature in some way. The rings tend to be simple, usually solitare stones. Pieces like this, this, or this should be easy to find.  : )

So what do you all think?  What are your suggestions?  Do you agree with mine?
Don't forget - Narnia Style Day is this weekend!
