IDEK know what to do with myself guys! AHHHHH. Also Moffat is the greatest troll!head writer ever.
THINGS I NEED TO CAPSLOCK ABOUT:
- THE PONDSSS. THEY DID SORT OF BECOME A MAFIA FAMILY AFTER ALL. A TIME MAFIA! HUZZAH! And omg, the not-so-sneaky Amy/Rory matchmaking by Eleven. BRB LAUGHING FOREVER.
- No seriously, are all his dates scones and texting? River better start educating him on the finer points of life, JUST SAYING.
- ON THAT NOTE. UM. "HER NIGHTS" *suggestive look* UM YES. YESSS. SOMEONE BETTER WRITE THAT GODDAMN FIC RIGHTTTTT NOWWWW.
- I'm glad Moffat explained why River's in jail for a crime she didn't a) commit or b) remember- it's basically a way of assuring the Silence that the Doctor is dead. Otherwise, why would River stay there, if she knew she hadn't killed him? (Except for the fact that she promised him. :D)
- THEY'RE MARRIEDDDDDDDDDDDDD. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Although, technically they were married in a reality that no longer exists. It happened, because they remember, but the short answer to "are you married" is "sort of". NO WONDER SHE DIDN’T GIVE HIM A STRAIGHT ANSWER WHEN HE ASKED. OH RIVER, ILU.
- Also, "You are forgiven. Always and completely forgiven." THEY ARE SO OTP GUYS. SO OTP. Also it reminds me of that lyric, "I could do most anything to you..." from Somewhere A Clock Is Ticking by Snow Patrol, which I DESPERATELY NEED SOMEONE TO VID.
- BACK TO AMY AND RORY! DATING IS FOR THE WEAK! PONDS GET MARRIED LIKE THEY DO EVERYTHING ELSE! LIKE EFFICIENT BAMFS!
- AMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. "She doesn't get it all from you, sweetie." AMYYYYY OMGGGGGGG. R. E. S. P. E. C. T.
- Also, Eleven's "death faces", are THE BEST.
- THE BRIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. IT HURTS. ;____; "Always made us pour an extra brandy in case you came round one of these days." DDDD: IT WAS ALL ON HIM EXCEPT FOR THE MONEY AND THE DRIVING, omg. ;_;
- "I can invent a new colour. Save the Dodo. JOIN THE BEATLES... Liz the First is still waiting in a glade to elope with me, I could help Rose Tyler with her homework, I could go to all of Jack's stag parties in one night!" AHAHA, DOCTOR. PERFECT ACTS OF PROCRASTINATION ARE PERFECT.
- "A record? Good lord man, have you never heard of downloads?"
- Contrary to my usual feelings about the Daleks, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode's Dalek scene.
- That shot of the chess piece being tipped will never not be thoroughly overdramtic and lulz full. But I still loved it, because this is Doctor Who.
- CLEOPATRA REFERENCES! Whatever, she and Elizabeth I are my favourite historical ladies SO I AM REALLY HAPPY WITH THE REFERENCES OKAY?
- WHY IS THE DOCTOR RUNNING FROM HIS OWN NAME, HMMMMM? UGH DAMN YOU MOFFAT STILL DYING.
IDK, maybe if River has a kid with Eleven he needs to put down his real name on the birth certificate or something? WHO KNOWS (no pun intended).
And even as a shipper, I was kind of 'eh' at the River-loving-the-Doctor-the-most. IDK if that's a judgement anyone can make. Everyone that travels with the Doctor, I think, comes to love him eventually. But even so, I still thought it was super adorable. And it really goes to show how much young!River has matured as older!River (in the Pandorica Opens). Young!River's selfish (and naive, in some ways) enough to try and sacrifice reality to stop the Doctor dying, whilst older!River knows she must not stop him from doing what he does.
Also, this ep (and the confidential hammered it in) finally dealt with Amy's pain over losing her baby. What she says is very, very true. She'll never get to see her baby again. And on one level at least, I'm glad she got her revenge. Revenge isn't the answer, etc etc, but I think Amy deserved that moment.
