(One thing I did notice: If the whole time-loop Rory dying thing was indeed a figment of Amy's imagination, it does a really good/creepy job of reflecting her apparent guilt over the whole you-waited-2000-years-for-me thing. Did you notice the "Kill Amy" and "Hate" written on the walls? Oh Amy. Oh.)
Yes I did, and I do think that Amy has a lot of guilt about Rory waiting for her.
It was really interesting to see Amy's side of that. Though, I'm not quite sure *why* she's guilty? Leaving him behind? The waiting? The reason she left in the first place? Married couple in TARDIS, got to be hard!
I would bet it has something to do with Amy's hesitance to commit. The night before her wedding, she took off with another man in a box. The time before Rory's wedding, it waiting for 2,000 years for his bride. There's kind of a different readiness for marriage, there.
Mmh, and tbh they've never really addressed the well of feelings there. Whilst I do think it was romantic (and for a lot of it I think Amy sees it that way too) I also think it gives Amy the feeling she's not doing enough in the relationship, which makes her feel guilty (especially if she made him wait again, which really wasn't her fault at all).
It just gets complicated reading Amy's signals when the show puts in so many false ones. :/
I hadn't even thought about it, but Amy must be feeling miserable for what she made (well, not made, it's not like she had a choice, did she?) Rory do. It kind of makes me re-evaluate why she's so upset that they can't tell the Doctor about his doomed future.
and so it's not goodbye. It's hello.
I swear, I know that every time I'll watch this ep I'll bawl my eyes out at that bit.
