Assorted Thoughts | Step Up 3(D?)
Oh, dance movies. Such a guilty pleasure. And yet, they never serve to give that delicious kick I expect. Prime example, Step Up 3D. Not only were the main characters annoying, and awkwardly written (and at times lacking essential chemistry), I kept thinking the male lead was actually quite a bad friend. So much for letting the kid you're mentoring balance work and play. Or y'know, old friends and new friends.
I was mostly rooting for the secondary couple all the way through the movie and then their first kiss was written off as an aside to the main couple. D: My headcanon wants to paint over it and cower.
THEN AGAIN, HARRY SHUM JR? HELL TO THE YES. I'd so be okay with a spin off sequel. In which he is shirtless (a lot). And the Santiago twins, and the crazy cool kids, and Camille (♥ that girl, she is gold) are amazing and blow shit out of water and... there is more fancy light stuff, :D. I am TOTALLY COOL WITH THAT.

Why yes, that is a crown. Why yes, Morgana is a crazy awesome ~sorceress, and why yes I DEMAND A MORGANA/MERLIN SHOWDOWN AND EPIC DEEP SHIT AND LIKE A CRAZY CLIFFHANGER/SETUP FOR SERIES 4 IN WHICH MORGANA WILL FINALLY GET HER SHADES OF GRAY AND MERLIN WILL FINALLY GROW A SOUL AND ARTHUR AND GWEN WILL FINALLY HAVE SCREEN TIME (and Uther may possibly die, and Morgause may cause shenanigans, and not all the female magical types will be killed off/villified/absent).
Or there might be smidgens of, oh, I don't know, progress and depth. Maybe. Hopefully?
