Things seem to be settling again, I suppose I'll become accustomed to these curse days soon enough, but trying to get about the City when they are in progress is a bit difficult. People kept trying to rescue me, or kidnap me...or perhaps both, it was quite hard to tell at times. But I will admit it brought back some memories.

But I did rather miss ( Read more... )

I could never be upset with you, Romana.

What sort of advice do you need?

That's reassuring, I was quite harsh and it wasn't you I was really angry with.

I'm rather at a crossroads, trying to decide what to do. The City guidelines state that I should have employment and I've been discussing options with a few individuals, namely one Tony Stark. I've also inquired at Torchwood, but with the current leadership, well, disappeared it's been slow.

...you also mentioned I'd gotten involved in politics back home, is there a political structure here, I don't recall seeing anything in the guides.

It would have been alright if it was.

Ohhhh, jobs are good to have. Keeps you from getting bored. Torchwood is brilliant but... Romana, that's not for you.

Oh, dear - law enforcement. That's probably just as well. As I understand it, I won't remember anything when I leave here, so I guess political experience won't really count for anything. Still I thought I'd ask.

So you don't think I would do well at Torchwood? I thought they did a fair amount of scientific research, especially with alien species. I'm hardly unqualified.

Wellll, it's all the sort of research that we learned a long time ago. And really, could you work under people that you know so much more about the subject matter than they do? They're all brilliant and brave but I wouldn't want to work under any of them.

I've worked under you for long enough, how bad could they be?

But I do see your point, I suppose I could see about a consultant position, perhaps keep them from making any mistakes? I must admit, Mr. Stark's company does seem like it might be a better fit.
