Much has change since 30 years...

Today I watched the first part of the Astrid Lindgren (the author of Pippi Longstocking, you know) movie "Du är inte klok Madicken" (roughly: "You're crazy Madicken") since I felt nostaglic and wanted to re-watch all the old Astrid Lindgren's movies I watched (and of course read the books) as a child. I got a bad feeling, though, and realized how the time has changed, as well as myself, over the time. Why? In the very beginning Madicken and her little sister Lisabet started by stripping away their night gowns, running around in their room, jumping on the bed full naked, 360 degrees nudity, and then they sat down, and put on their thigh high stockings, filmed in front. All acting innocent, of course.

I felt bad, since the climate has changed so much. From nudity being something natural and innocent, turning into something ugly, obscene and terrible, particulary when it is child nudity. Not just the society has changed, but also me, and my views. Now I think it is not that good idea that they've filmed like that, and worries about pedophiles watching this movie (I mean, if you take that scene out from the movie it would be a full blown child pornography material even though it is innocent)

I wonder, has times became so bad now? That children cannot even play around nude anymore? Or is it better now with us realizing about pedophilias and protecting the children? I do not know. I still think it is sad to put bikini tops on small girls, though. No boobs? No need to cover! Worst are on babies! I feel you're just sexualizing the babies if you're putting the tops on, particulary if it is a model that is adult (cups/contoured and not simply tank top shaped).

The times has became harder, yeah. Back in 70-80's people didn't care about nudity at all, it was natural. People swimmed nude more often, girls went topless.. then suddenly in late 90's and onward it was a big change.. now it is starting to go backwards again, with boys having really long loose fitting swim trunks down to their knees, and even with underwear under (yuck, I never understand that trend), and girls always covering their tops, some even putting on shorts or skirt on bottom. (with boys and girls I mean of all ages)

And porn can be easily found now online compared with earlier... The innocent age is gone. I wonder if there's a relation of the reaction against nudity and the availabilty of pornography. Or if we (Swedes) are inspired by the conservatives in the US and start to think that nudity = bad?

Also get me to think of the stupid women that do not want to breast feed since they feel funny about it since they relate breasts as something sexual. Ok hopefully these are a minority, but still. That's about getting so far from what's it is intended for...

(and last word: I hate pedophilia and I am no way one, blergh, so you get me right, ok?)
