Serger

I want to have a serger. I've never owned one before, I've never even tried on one home serger. I've only tried to sew on industrial sergers 14 years ago. (these things are QUICK! but so were their sewing machines)

Yes I admit it, I love things, I love mechanic things, I love sewing machines. But I also think it would be great to have a machine that can sew elastic/knit fabrics properly. I think it would be fun to make my own panties for example.

I've looked around for reviews and machines for good prices, and I think this is good choice:

Janome's MyLock 644D It is costing 4800-5000 SEK if I buy within Sweden, but if I buy from the UK seller I bought from earlier the price would be 199 pounds and a little more for shipping. Which would be totally slightly more than half the price. (yes I love to rant how expensive sewing machines are in Sweden, so expensive that UK machines are a bargain compared)

I should try before buying, but it would be hard. It would be cheeky to go in a store and ask to try their machines only to not buy from them. And I think there's only one store with Janome machines in this town, and I've already done the "trying, and not buying" there, so it would be embarrassing to do it again. (these stores are basically one person-stores so it feels extra cheeky)

A few years ago there used to be a fair called Syfestivalen once a year, but now it has stopped to come to Göteborg. It was a good way to try out machines. Now they've stopped to organize in Göteborg. I miss them, I think it was 3 years ago last time they came here. I've emailed them and asked why they do not come to Göteborg anymore and they haven't answered yet. (I emailed them 2-3 months ago)
My theory is that there's another fair in Göteborg, a teeny tiny boring one, organized by one sewing machine seller in town, but that fair is so small, and of course only sewing machines from that store (which has Bernina machines only) and naturally they would not allow another shops/brands to showcase there. Boo.

Maybe I will email and ask again and telling that I miss Syfestivalen.
