It was wrong of me to indulge so much in alcohol. There's never an excuse to drink with the intention of getting intoxicated. Never.

I will swear off anything alcoholic from now on.  And I don't intend to encourage anyone in such a vice either so I am going to close my bar.

In other news, I've taken in a pet lizard and named it Gizel. I think he's ( Read more... )

Seems to me like plenty of people would be upset if you closed the bar.

I'm sure that there will be quite a few of them but it's not my job to please everyone. I do, however, have a responsibility of making sure that I am not the reason or encouragemet of their vices.

What is the crime in drinking?

Nothing. It is a perfectly legal activity.

But. It also inhibits good judgment, often leading people to do stupid and harmful things. We'd be better off without alcohol.

It's good that they don't and they should be commended. But I am not willing to risk the chance that anyone can lose his or her sense of judgment under the influence.

Besides, there are drinks other than alcohol that everyone can enjoy.

Well, I can appreciate a good glass of apple juice...

... still, it is my understanding that you put a lot of work into your bar. Are you sure you don't want to wait and think some more?

Milk is also good for you.

Although I am ashamed to admit it, I was such an alcoholic. I drank all night and slept all day. That was pretty much my life.
Not only would I be getting my act together but I think it would help those who drank only to seek solace in getting intoxicated to find better ways to deal with their pain.

Hm, maybe I won't close the bar completely - I could just serve non-alcoholic drinks like apple juice~

You've got a point.

I think keeping the bar open for other purposes would be good. That way, you and your employees aren't out of a job.
