It's a type of chocobo breed.

Really, I have no clue. It looks like a normal yellow chocobo to me. The feathers aren't shiny enough to mark it as a gold one.

Oh yeah. Very cute. Now to figure out what to name him. Don't know the answers to any of that yet. I'm currently busy with figuring out what it'd take to make a small pen for him.

Erm, enough wood to make a perimeter at least 3 body lengths wide, bedding of sorts, a water trough, and a feeding station, as well as a gate and a roof.
