Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.

Last weekend was spent mostly watching films. Which generally makes me happy, but this was more than pleasurable. :-)

First of all I got to see Labyrinth (1986). And besides the obvious OMG!Isolovetolittlebitsandpieces response... I'm a bit divided. On the one hand, I'm sorry that I never knew about it's existence as a child (well, after all - it ( Read more... )

You know what? I think this just might be the beginning of a long and beautiful friendship... :-D

The Gray Tights... yeah. They were... distracting, shall we say. :-) And the ballroom scene... which was, as we're told in the film, built out of *Sarah's* wishes!!! I swear, all I could talk about for the rest of the evening was that I just can't believe how this film managed to bypass censoring, and whose idea was it in the first place (whose feet I should throw myself at and declare that I am not worthy of his/her presence) and how amazing it is that the project was followed through... and a whole lot more rambling on the same theme.

Also, in case you haven't seen "Tightrope"... Do. Oh, and if you want something *really* weird - try "The Beguiled". (Why yes, I've seen most anything with Eastwood in it and still want more. Why do you ask?) :-P

I passed up on watching "A Clockwork Orange" when it was on TV years ago, because I was disgusted with the violence in it (I hung in there for over 20 minutes, as I recall), but I might give it another try now that I'm older and... well, older. I had no idea that guy was from "Home Alone" - I barely remember any scenes with the kid's parents. And I truly did not know that he was in "A Clockwork..".

I haven't seen enough Star Trek to know about Dr. Soren. To me it's, like, Spock (yay!)... and then there's Data and that's it. ;-)
