Banned Books Week

Found this article online and found it fascinating that the books some of us HAD to read are now considered "objectionable".

Wow.

For the record, I happen to know a Catholic Priest who gives his office staff at the church off to go see Harry Potter movies on opening day. He also watches Charmed. Leave a comment

It is comments like the below that scare me the most (this was found under the list some time ago and is several pages in at this point):

"I say BURN THE BOOKS! We should always force a small group of people to read what other humans write so they can tell us in their opinion what is ok to read and what is not ok to read. This small group of people should not be liberals, they should not believe in false gods, they should believe in the only true God! This way they will be in the correct frame of mind to tell people who do not have the correct frame of mind due to their disbelieve in God or their overly liberal views, but they should not be reading. After all there are people out there who claim that there religion is Wicca (witchcraft!) and we can't have them reading books like Harry Potter! I say, hand them the only book we really need, the BIBLE! Yes, I know what you are thinking, FREEDOM OF RELIGION, but you forget it needs to be a christian religion. We must not allow our country to slid into a place were people can say or write or read whatever they want."

Fuckers piss me off...
