Problems with Muller @ Bayern???

Jan 21, 2012 20:54

According to Goal.com (and Sport Bild), Thomas has not been putting out enough effort for the team:

The technical staff of Bayern Munich has reportedly criticized Thomas Muller for his lack of effort on the training pitch, with the Germany international being accused of working harder for the national side than for the Bavarians, Sport Bild reports.
The 22-year-old had developed into an important first team member at Bayern in the past few seasons, but he was left out of the match squad for FCB's 3-1 Champions League Group A win over Villarreal back in Nov. 2011.

It was initially thought that the versatile attacker was rested for the encounter, but it has now surfaced that Muller was dropped following a lack of effort in training.

Muller is believed to be unhappy with his situation at Bayern this season, as he has been shuffled from position to position rather than be used in his favorite spot as a central attacking midfielder.

Head coach Jupp Heynckes has often opted for Toni Kroos in the No.10 position, with Muller pushed out to the right or left wing.

Well, if transfer rumours start up with regard to him, I'll know why! However, I have to say, that if he doesn't work his ass off, regardless of how he feels about Heynckes, Kroos, or anything else, he will have trouble staying on the NT. And this summer, when Euro 2012 is on, he needs to make a good showing to improve his value, which is only possible if he's gotten lots of playing time at his club and is in good shape. Otherwise he'll have no way to leverage a higher paycheck in any possible transfer deal.
